Hard drive eraser?
Da’Rel B. asked:
Can I buy this at a store like best buy or circuit city? I would download it, but it’s a computer with no internet connection. Also when I clean the hard drive will it make the computer run faster and will it take off all the programs thats on the computer already (I really hope not)

If you don’t want to delete programs or files I wouldn’t suggest using a hard drive eraser. I would suggest cleaning your temp files to optimize performance.
CCleaner is a freeware system optimization and privacy tool. It removes unused files from your system - allowing Windows to run faster and freeing up valuable hard disk space. It also cleans traces of your online activities such as your Internet history. CCleaner also fixes your registry. But the best part is that it’s fast (normally taking less than a second to run) and contains NO Spyware or Adware.

If it is an eraser you want to use, yes it wipes off all the data - OS, programs, configurations, files, music and videos… **** included.
If you want a cleaner only, just use disc cleanup.

if you want to erase your hard drive you’re gonna wipe it clean, your best bet if you want to keep our programs is use the disk cleanup in your system tools to basically uninstall anything you don’t want afterwards delete any residual folders and defrag your hard drive. if you want to wipe it clean like it’s a brand new hard then i would suggest
it’s a free utility i’ve used it plenty of times and it gets the job done to setting the hard drive back to zero!

Well, since you are on a computer with internet access to ask this question, go to: Note that a hard drive eraser, like DBAN, will completely wipe a hard drive. There will be nothing on it. No data, no programs, no operating system. It will not boot until you install the operating system again.
