will a restoring disk erase all the data on my pc?

i accidentally removed the audio on my pc so now there is no sound in it…i thought i might put in the restore disk but i’m afraid it’ll erase everything i’ve put in my pc and restore it to how it was when i bought it. please help..can u tell i’m beginner in desperate need ?

You don’t need to restore the entire system to fix you audio. All you need to do is reload the audio drivers. You didn’t say what kind/brand of computer you have but most of them come with a Driver CD and you can reload the audio drivers from that CD. If you don’t have the drivers, a visit to the computer manufacturers website will usually find the drivers.
So don’t do a restore, no need. Do find the drivers and reload them.
