Is there anyway to erase a Non-Rewritable disk to be reused?
Joseph W asked:
I have DVDs with data on them is there anyway to erase them to be reused for more data? Or do I have to buy more disks? These disks are Non-Rewritable!

non-rewritables are just what they are, you cannot hack them or anything, you can just use them once.
if your looking for rewritable DVD’s they will have DVDRW labeled on them.

You should be able to add more content if you did not finalize the dvd but you can not erase the data already on there since its a DVD-R not a DVD-RW disk. I use DVD-r for pics all the time and just keep adding more and more until the disk is full. Thanks

No, you can’t do that, because the laser in your DVD drive on your computer literally burns the data onto it. In essence, it scars the disc. You can’t remove that because there’s no way to repair the “damage” done by the burner on the DVD. If you want to use a DVD more than once, get DVD-RW’s. They can be used over than over. However, DVD-R’s (which are one-time use) are pretty cheap, so if you’re just looking to burn a movie and give it to someone, that would probably be your best bet.
