is it possible to erase a dvd disk and burn a new movie onto it?

only if the disk is dvd-rw.

if it’s a DVD-RW then yes…otherwise no

if it says DVD-RW then u can
if in only says DVD-R the u cant

I wouldn’t want to do that. Just get another DVD blank. you may end up with zero on it instead of at least one movie.

A) copying DVD’s is illegal even if you own it.
B) unless you have a rewritable DVD you are out of luck.

Variations of the term DVD often describe the way data is stored on the discs: DVD-ROM has data which can only be read and not written, DVD-R and DVD+R can only record data once and then function as a DVD-ROM. DVD-RW and DVD+RW can both record and erase data multiple times.
